OVERVIEW
Soho Works portal provides users with the ability to remotely reserve co-working spaces and events that are hosted across their multiple “houses” worldwide. As Soho Works’ design team extension I was tasked with redesigning their member’s portal and reported directly to their creative director located in the UK.
PROJECT
The following are a few of the contributions I made while working on the SW members portal;
- Applying a new responsive design system to all existing screens within the portal.
- Creating UX flows for the existing portal and for any additional features.
- Create a timeline feature for reservable rooms to provide users with visibility to booking availabilities.
- Redesign the room booking experience for scalability, enabling it to accommodate equipment rentals and studios.
- Redesign the cross-page house location selector to provide greater clarity to users as to which house they are currently browsing for events and room bookings.
Key challenges
- Navigating the technical limitations of displaying 24 hrs worth of availabilities for multiple bookable rooms without crippling page load time.
- Redesigning a cross-page filter that auto-applies date/time/location ‘on selection’ while accounting for each native component’s different functionality across browsers.
